Business Update
January 2025 – important changes at Green Pioneer
We have made the difficult decision to cease the distribution of other brands, and will instead focus our time and energy on our own labels, ReSpiin and A Slice of Green.
We have been in this market for 17 years and feel that the time is right to adapt to the challenges that we now face. Low margins, ever increasing costs and falling sales have made trading increasingly difficult. We’re seeing several brands available in mainstream retailers – which is of course is the right thing to get sustainable products out into as many hands as possible.
At the same time, we have to be realistic about the much wider distribution of the brands we sell, and our position has been particularly affected by the growth of the B2B marketplaces. We’re proud to have been the first partner many of our brands have worked with, and we know we have helped them launch and grow their businesses. Whilst we have never tied them into restrictive agreements, supporting them in their growth, it has meant that we now face a lot of competition from other platforms/distributors for almost all of the brands we sell.
Our focus over the next few months will be to continue trading as usual while we sell stock through. We do have incoming deliveries from U-Konserve, LunchBots and Bambu over the next couple of months as well as two new launches from ReSpiin, so there is plenty going on.
Some slower lines have been reduced this morning, so please visit the reductions section on the website to review all of the offers. This will be an evolving situation, and I’ll make sure I keep the greenpioneerstockists instagram account and website updated as we go along.
We want to thank you all for working with us over the years to help bring sustainability to more people around Europe, and look forward to that continuing as we move into the next phase of Green Pioneer.
