Salt of the Earth
Established for over 25 years, Salt of the Earth is one of the leading manufacturers of 100% natural deodorant.
Acquired by mother and son team Sally and Thomas in 2005, it was originally run from a backroom in the family home. Since then, the range has developed from the original crystal stick to include spray deodorants, roll on deodorants and refills. In 2019, they introduced their first plastic free deodorant in a move to become even more sustainable.
Crystal deodorants work by leaving an invisible layer of mineral salt on the skin which work to inhibit the growth of odour causing bacteria.
The deodorants offer long-lasting protection from body odour with minimal impact on the environment. The stick deodorants are designed to be refilled. If a completely plastic-free option is preferred, the ‘Use or Refill’ sticks come in a cardboard tube which works effectively as a standalone product.
All products (excluding the original deodorant stones) are made in the UK at the Salt of the Earth ISO certified manufacturing site. The water free formulations are COSMOS certified as containing 100% natural ingredients, are cruelty free and approved by the Vegetarian and Vegan Societies. The deodorants are also aluminium free so they leave no white marks or yellow clothing stains.
