Truthbrush was launched in 2018 by two friends, Catherine and Catherine, who are based in Devon, UK. With their combined expertise as a hospital doctor and a fashion buyer, they designed a toothbrush that is not only healthy and practical to use but looks great in the home too.

Catherine and Catherine chose bamboo as the material for their Truthbrush handle as it is beautiful to look at, warm to touch and is also fully biodegradable. With its natural antibacterial and antifungal properties, bamboo is hygienic for use in the bathroom too. The bamboo used is Moso bamboo which is grown organically in China. To add a splash of colour the bamboo handle is dipped in an eco-friendly, water-based paint.

Both founders believe in complete transparency, honesty and openness and love being part of the change towards a better way of living that’s gentler on the planet.  They are members of 1% for the Planet, work with Tree Nation and support women in enterprise through AWEAt the end of 2021, certifying as the first UK oral care BCorp is the confirmation of what they have worked so hard to achieve - to use business as a force for good.

Truthbrushes, Travel Cases and Interdental Brushes:

The medium bristles on the Truthbrush are made from castor bean oil (a renewable vegetable oil).

The soft bristles on the Tiny Truthbrush are a blend of 62% castor oil and 38% nylon.

The interdental brushes have 100% BPA-free nylon bristles (castor oil bristles are not commercially available in this size).

The Truthbrush bamboo travel cases are made of natural polished bamboo, with an engraved Truthbrush logo, and ventilation holes to allow the brush to dry out between uses.

All are made using sustainably sourced FSC bamboo and the brushes are certified to EN ISO 20126:2012 standards for safety and performance.

The Truthbrushes are carefully wrapped in tissue paper and a fully recyclable pillow pack with a colour reference at each end. To dispose of your toothbrush or interdental brush, please place it in your garden waste or home compost bin. Over time, all but the bristles will biodegrade, leaving no residue. Alternatively, you can pull out the bristles with a pair of pliers and re-use the Truthbrush in any creative way you can. Plant canes and paint stirrers are just a couple of examples of how you can give your Truthbrush a second life.

Made in the UK, the Truthtabs wild mint flavour toothpaste tablets contain fluoride at a level of 1450 parts per million (ppm) which is within the range of 1,350 to 1,500ppm recommended by dentists for maximum prevention of tooth decay. They are easy to use - just bite, brush, rinse & smile! Inside each pillow pack, the tabs are protected inside a Natureflex film, making the packaging fully biodegradable.
